A few months ago, I read a report on the LNG market outlook by the excellently named Institute for Energy Economic and Financial Analysis (“IEEFA”). The data was at odds with what I had seen elsewhere, which was why I was interested. But something about the tone of the report rubbed me the wrong way. It just seemed ‘preachy’?? Like, no pretense to objectivity. So I read the bios of the authors. Everyone. EVERYONE. at IEEFA has a renewable energy background. Today, I read a respected African economic journal quoting verbatim from that report. And that, ladies and gents is my first time seeing the power of a lobby in action.
