This paper was way ahead of it's time. Amory Lovins advocacy for "Soft Energy Paths" would directly translate to everything we are advocating for in web3. 

Developing energy infra that encourages energy to be consumed in the form & location of it's production, is an underprioritized goal of our modern society.

I came across this paper in 2021 or there about, and it had an outsized influence in my thought process leading up to the formation of the M3tering Protocol 2 years later.

I may not agree with everything it says today. But I 100% would always agree that energy should be consumed in the form and location of it's production (or as closely as possible). Our energy infra would be much resilient, decentralized, efficient and environmentally friendly in this path, and that's the path we can take with DePIN for energy.
