I think he's had success doing a few things

1) Right place/right time with Tesla
2) Creating a hype-based marketing apparatus centered on himself
3) Leveraging previous business to spin up new businesses/acquisitions

I mean, his achievements probably due to his effort but most people think because of his genius . What do you think?
