Periodic reminder that OTC melatonin supplements are roughly 10x to 30x higher than what is needed for optimal sleep. The dose you really need is 0.3mg, ideally with a time release.

I've always been of the non-medical opinion that 5-HTP supplements are more beneficial because the body takes that and makes 5-HT (serotonin) and then makes melatonin from there. Gotta be careful if you are on SSRI/SNRIs though.
