Every time I’ve had friends that were skeptical or dismissive when I pointed out a known dangerous person, they chose the dangerous person over me when push came to shove, even as I got stabbed by an armband-wearing Nazi for taking down posters near my Jewish campus ministry.

I got better. I found out who my real friends were even if it's totally alienating to think about too long as someone who is otherwise 'white passing'.
