I’m all for energy independence but this is plain stupid. What will we get them with? Tariffs on what?

I don’t see what the U.S. can do to harm Canada with tariffs. Canada can just get what it needs elsewhere.

Yep, and Canada has strong trade partners in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. So it doesn’t need the United States necessarily for its economy to thrive. Europe will also gladly buy its oil. So will China.
