This feels like another heavy handed move to force all dapp developers utilizing Base to have their end users be verified Coinbase customers. 

They’re doing the same thing with other SDKs where every user has to be a verified Coinbase customer. Definitely an exciting idea but this doesn’t feel genuine to the space

Appreciate you sharing this! Without decentralization from the jump I was a bit skeptical but I’m more open to it now. Either way I see this as a positive thing for the industry.

Yeah that’s totally fair, they deserve more credit for getting USDC to where it is as well. I am a bit skeptical of their intent but at the end of the day if it’s a good product/dev experience the intent doesn’t matter.

Coinbase has onboarded more people and fiat to permissionless cryptocurrency blockchains than any other company by an order of magnitude, so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Do you think we'll see some divergence in spreads on similar chains with the only difference being KYC?

Base -- KYC, tighter spreads
Optimism -- permissionless, wider spreads
