1. always roll your clothes - saves sooo much space in the suitcase! 
2. download offline maps - trust me, they’re lifesavers when you have no signal. 
3. bring a portable charger - you don't wanna be that person hunting for an outlet lol.
4. try local food - skip the chains and dive into the local cuisine. you won't regret it!
5. talk to locals - they always have the best recommendations. met a guy named marco in rome who showed us the coolest spots!
