I'd take a trade I can make 5% every time I take it vs looking for a 100x or gambling any day of the week.

I think they have to make the gear matter first then an economy will emerge

After season 3 , people got over gear fear so other then for achievements and missions there's no reason to search.

If that didn't exist , I think trading will naturally happen.
