Is there are any downsides to using Expo? Performance, package support?

After Flutter, RN is like crazy frankenstein and I’m really reluctant to add another frankenstein layer of tech on top of it.

I dont see any downsides. Expo will only provide things to make your life easier

And whatever you need you can just `expo prebuild` and get your native projects back again, while still maintaining support for all the curated Expo APIs

Would like to hear other people's experience with expo. 
Never used it either with a RN project.
