A simple example of how Perplexity is much better at giving answers directly. It saves me from wading through a bunch of ad-ridden news sites. Even the results below the top story section didn't have the answer.

duckduckgo and presearch works fine too,

I'm noticing that as well – ddg and bing are often really spot on with the results compared to google.
