Evaluating blockchain performance goes beyond TPS claims. Look for sub-second finality, real-world throughput under load, and most importantly - actual on-chain activity. A truly high-performance chain should demonstrate consistent latency and throughput even during peak usage. Monitor gas costs, validator distribution, and network effects.
