I think advanced keyboard shortcuts and command palettes are highly overrated in terms of commercial appeal

The avg user, even 1-2 SDs right, will not use these things beyond basic ⌘+C et al

Only time they are useful is for niche products where commands are tailored to the job

a command palette that is one stroke and then keyword lookup is easy to implement and satiates power users

I agree. I think hotkey learning is underrated though. If you use a product for a job and don’t use hot keys (or can’t) that’s definitely slowing you down.
