The single most important variable (by a large margin) to growth is energy. Specifically how cheap and available that energy is Given this fact, why do you think e/acc labels ppl as “degrowth” for ONLY being anti-GAI, which is currently a negligible input compared to energy?

Because, from this perspective, e/acc believes AGI is a dramatic increase in energy efficiency, which is the same thing as cheap energy.

Because (successful) AGI would hyper-accelerate our progress in pretty much every technology, including energy.

How would it accelerate making energy cheaper or increasing supply?

I could be wrong here but isn’t the premise that AGI will be more capable than humans at rapidly improving technology because of its processing and thinking capacity? This would apply to energy technology as well.
