Ramirez is rly good but line can be long, would go before they open for shortest wait. they also opened a carnitas spot in EV that I haven’t tried. 

For nicer Mexican spots, cosme (flatiron) is always solid, atla (noho) is their more casual sister. For something more progressive, Corima (LES) is rooted in northern Mexico but the chef has over a decade of experience in fine dining / near fine dining in San seb, shanghai, and most recently at contra (LES) so the food takes a lot of inspiration globally. opened last winter and already got 1 star. I’ve done the tasting menu but want to go back for a la carte which is a different menu and looks equally good!
