Celebrating 120 years of one of the oldest orchestras in Madrid with Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet and Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto. As usual, the setting was beautiful, but the concert was dreadfully boring. Why? Because musical institutions today are a lot like companies — people are functionaries, not creators.
