I was at a social event last night with Hollywood types. They were very interested in the intersection of crypto and media. They were just as excited about Farcaster, specially as I explained how the Merkle team did a tremendous job at abstracting away the Ethereum identity layer (wallets, private keys) and financial layer (payments). But the fee to join was still too high a hurdle for them. I’ll be gifting them all accounts but @dwr.eth @v should consider removing it altogether to accelerate onboarding. Beyond being there to discourage bots (it doesn’t) I don’t think it serves a valuable enough purpose, and keeps good people away. Also, more soon about my plans for developing better crypto narratives with Hollywood.

Another example where a simple and straightforward reimbursement program would be very useful and helpful in growing the network

personally, i think it should be removed altogether, but wouldn't be opposed to gift accounts being reimbursed by the protocol.
