New experiment! I have changed my name and handle to Hug Hassle. I have been known as Matt here for about two years and this step feels a bit outlandish and scary so I'll explain my reasoning below.

1. Discoverability: my real name is too common and it makes it hard to find my music and other work on the internet
2. Pseudonymity: inspired by many others, I am intrigued by the increased freedom that comes with being (almost) anon
3. Agency: I consider making my own name to be an act of radical agency. There's a part of me that feels like it isn't "allowed," and this name change is a constant reminder to crush that timid, fearful part of myself into oblivion. 

Why Hug Hassle?

A few years ago, I was journaling and made a typo while writing "huge hassle" and wrote "hug hassle" instead. I have not stopped thinking about it since, so it seems like my subconscious is telling me to do this.
