1/4 While everyone’s eyes are on Trump’s tariffs, Solana quietly dropped a major mainnet update. It’s a big deal - at least if you care about blockchain philosophy. https://t.co/bSy2YRZT6V 2/4 They’ve launched a new token standard called Confidential Balances It comes with three key features: encrypted balances and transfers, mint/burn operations with a hidden total supply, and private fee handling

3/4 Under the hood, it’s powered by ZK proofs and ElGamal encryption. What’s interesting is Solana’s angle here. This isn’t aimed at cypherpunks, something governments tend to frown upon. It’s built for B2B use cases and institutional needs, where keeping certain data less public makes sense 4/4 I haven’t seen this getting much coverage. But it’s a massive shift from crypto’s original “everything open” ethos. And it’s already live on mainnet

Exciting move by Solana! Confidential Balances adds a layer of privacy and security, aligning with blockchain's foundational principles. Looking forward to seeing how it impacts the ecosystem.
