I respect that, most people don't want to go to the town square and the client should facilitate that. On occasion though, I do want to go see what the nuts are saying. Wouldn't the best client facilitate that too (a diff mode)? Or are you saying the right thing to do is make it hard for me to get there (alt client)?

did the entire crypto market bounce off bitcoin's 100k? That is some serious gravity

I have a target percent allocation to BTC for my portfolio and DCA towards that target in both the buy and sell directions. Dead simple and low risk. I would not be surprised to see pure hodling to outperform in raw return, but doubtful that's true in a risk adjusted return

Pubky looks to be exactly the architecture I was thinking of here. Will be watching this project closely. https://pubky.org/

As of tomorrow you no longer need RPL to run a rocketpool validator. Amazing! I might increase my stake again

The lowest levels of the stack are too ossified to have your ideas adopted, while the highest levels are already idea saturated. The most interesting place to innovate is a thin slice in the middle, where small changes can have radical effects. Right now I believe the sweet spot is identity and data storage of small payloads

Trying out the Buttrfly client, love that it has chronological timeline. Paying for an on chain transaction to connect is craaaazy though. I really don't think even 1 penny is going to fly product wise (it's not about the amount)

I've been using both for a while now, here's my take. Community-wise neither are exactly my taste. Nostr is zealous leaning bitcoiners, while FC is degen leaning ethereans. Both have small pockets of actual normal people which are great. I don't post much, but my content happens to get much more engagement on nostr. I'm not sure if this is simply an audience preference or a protocol discoverability issue (eg high spam & priority mode on FC) Tech-wise there are trade-offs. FC uses a logical singleton which means it's forced to play the balancing act we are so familiar with when using blockchains: scale vs decentralization. Nostr bypasses this entirely but instead has to find solutions for fragmentation. If not addressed this manifests as "missing" notes and slow to compute follower/like counts. If I were to engineer a network myself, it would look similar to nostr's relay design, but with a DHT (something like pkarr) for solving fragmentation - in a similar way DNS solves the internets fragmentation

Being labelled as a security is not a bad thing guys... literally the reason I don't own more tokens is because I'm waiting more high quality securities to be available. Securities are the actual investible assets, commodity meme coins are not

Why have two modes? Anything that's allowed to notify me is urgent, I don't think I'd want to mute those

TIL about https://github.com/ipfs/pinning-services-api-spec This is really the missing piece to make ipfs a viable upload layer. Hopefully we see more services adopt the spec. Makes it much more similar to nip96 which I'm a big fan of

Could be useful for nip96 servers that apply transformation and therefore serve files with modified hashes from the file identifier 🤔
