My latest artwork "Neon Nostalgia" is a throwback to my childhood. Specifically - the movies I used to love watching as a kid.  

This image has 12 references to some of the movies from that wonderful era. 

Let's dive deeper and take a little walk down memory lane 👇

1. This is probably the most straightforward reference here. "Total Recall" from 1990. One of my favorite movies with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It has everything, action, space travel, humor, and awesome visual effects (remember a girl with three boobs? 😅 )

2. This is a reference to the USCSS Nostromo ship, from "Alien", where the main events of the movie take place. In my opinion "Alien" has one of the best sequels in movie history, btw...

3. Maybe the problem with this one was that it cropped too much. But, if you look closely you can probably see that this is a Titty Twister Bar from "From Dusk Till Dawn". Not the best movie to watch as a kid 😅  But hey, this was a part of our childhood 🤷‍♂️ Imagine the level of my excitement when a "not so interesting" thriller about bank-robbing brothers turns into a bloody vampire horror in the middle of the story.

4. Can you spot a famous action hero here? I hope you can, if you look close enough. Yes, that John Rambo from the Rambo franchise. A man with a machine gun and neverending bullets. I didn't like much the first movie, but the action-packed "Rambo: First Blood Part II" and "Rambo III" is a "fun to watch", even now.

5. Next to the Rambo graffiti you can spot a very well-known logo. "Mortal Kombat" from 1995 - I can't name the number of times I watched it on a VHS tape. And that soundtrack by "The Immortals"....still gives me goosebumps. Who else practiced their karate moves listening to this track? 😂

6. McFly's Skateboards - I was sure that this was going to be pretty obvious too. The reference, of course, is to Marty McFly from "Back to the Future". My first idea was to place a famous DeLorean in this scene, but...let's say it didn't work out well 😅
