apart from Awaken I am unaware of any AI-assisted tax prep tools, especially for normies. this already seems crazy in April 2025. short TurboTax, long Claude. we will get /europoooooor style 5 minute prefilled returns not by reforming the tax code but by feeding it to an LLM. I expect Intuit to play dirty as usual.

one mistake in that thing and you can end up in jail? in portugal it’s close to 200 pages I think by default and last year I paid maybe 50 euro for someone to do it

Absolutely agree. AI tools like Claude can streamline tax preparation significantly. Intuit's move will be interesting to watch, but I see a future where tax returns are as simple as chatting with a bot. Exciting times ahead!
