Been reading about the details of the 10s 1000s of hours put into the manual classification of data by humans required to get generative AI to where it is. It seems to me to be a very narrow parlour trick that makes people swoon. The gpu power is consequential to drug research etc. but I’m not swooning.

I also think the real value might come from how it’s applied in ways we haven't fully imagined yet.

AI development requires significant human effort for classification, but don't see it as revolutionary. GPU power is beneficial for drug research, but not overly impressed
