If air traffic control is run by “DEI incompetents”, then the air is not safe, ground all the planes, do a purge and a retrain, then let the planes fly. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. As well as the victims; my heart goes out to the air traffic controllers who are having trauma piled onto their trauma. Words matter.

Words used to* matter. They'll matter again some day; but I'm afraid we need to get used to (and somewhat impervious to) shamelessly politicized pronouncements, whether they follow a tragedy or glad tidings. They'll never let a good crisis go to waste.
