Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said the Fed “is not allowed to own Bitcoin.” Whether the U.S. government should hold Bitcoin is a decision for Congress, but the Fed itself has no intention of holding any Bitcoin. Note that the Fed is a private company, not part of the U.S. government.
