Well posting it here again, since my post in /ethereum got censored. I think big L2 will be the real Ethereum killer. I might be not technically experienced enough to understand the relationship between L1 and L2 but what I see is that L2 are building super chains and assemble as much as possible activity and capital. L2 implementing alternative tokens for paying the gas fees is for me another sign of becoming independent from ETH. What do you think about this take?

Tasting my theory in here having this thought quite some time in my head. Reading the latest headlines I really think Arbitrum will be the real ETH killer. They are rushing to enable other tokens than ETH to pay for gas fees and they are having a way larger active user base than ETH. What’s holding them back to go full independent? What do you guys think of my thought? Any good counter arguments?

I understand the concerns around fragmentation when it comes to L2's, but there's no denying that the UX of major L2's like Arbitrum One and Base is awesome. Every time I do a transaction on these networks (using Rabby) it's always a pleasant experience. Layer 2 UX ftw!

The point eval precompile returns the modulus, allowing rollups to be built to be forward-compatible with future changes to the modulus
