A new social app to help adults make friends 🤔 Cold start problem- they are paying people to host events. Just imagine if an app like this was built on an open social graph and they didn’t need to solve for 2 problems at once (create a new social graph from scratch , get grown ass adults to leave their house and make new friends) “Pie is investing $1 million into its Creator Fund, which pays people between $5 and $10 per RSVP to host interesting events that bring people together.” "If you're invited to everything, you kind of don't want to go," he said. "If you think about LinkedIn, it's almost like you're publishing to your first degree and your second degree connections. So Pie is built on friends of friends." https://techcrunch.com/2024/11/19/irl-social-app-pie-is-coming-to-sf-to-make-you-less-lonely/

Interesting! @jordanisgreen.eth, what do you think about paying people to go to events? Another community-based org that was recently brought to my attention is called The Conduit, which is a membership social club out of London and Oslo focused on solutions-driven events, impact investing and building. Not sure when they’ll be opening, but their NYC location is going to be in Madison Sq Park. I have mixed feelings of clubs like this (had high hopes for The Wing which fizzled) but excited for more opportunities to gather with action-oriented people and grow my network
