To clarify I am also watching it for the first time. As a 90s kid from the NYC suburbs. Had friends who had connected family. My dad was an IBanker and never let me watch “gangster” shows (my parents sheltered me lol but whatever)

I mentioned my dad specifically bc he was the one who had the stronger opinions of “gangsters” lol. He specifically was told to avoid doing deals withTrump (in the 90s) because he was a con, lol. 
My mom is an attorney and very much a law person, if you know what I mean (I have a lot of lawyers in my peoplesphere) but her dad was in the lumber business in queens (took it over from her mothers parents) and def did jobs with people who paid in ways other than cash.
