Trends are priced on a bonding curve, so trend price will increase as more people buy it and decrease as people sell it. Check out trends.market and the FAQs in there for the full site and explanation

thanks, i wish the frame or transaction preview would show how much ETH it would cost is the frame owner getting the referral bonus here?

We can make it happen for tomorrow’s Trend Battle. The referral bonus (2.5%) + Trends fee (2.5%) from all frame txs go to the frame pot. We also pre-funded it with 0.05 ETH. 1 caster who got it right and bought the trend through the frame gets the frame pot.
