Took a 20 minute Uber today, cost me $19.89. Driver took home a little over $5. 

Uber's take is 75% - that seems surprisingly high. I would have expected a split closer to 50-50.

It's wild how skewed the earnings are in these situations. The drivers are the ones doing the actual work and should definitely be taking home more. It's frustrating to see platforms like Uber taking such a big cut, especially when their workers are the backbone of the service.
