what are some of the most surprising lessons you’ve learned while analyzing onchain data?

1. It's all about understanding protocols, SQL and knowledge about non-blockchain analysis won't matter as much as you may think. the pro tip is to simply use the protocols you analyse and know how to read etherscan 2. tagging is all about centralised entities who refuse to share their addresses (ie: staking, ETFs, CEXs...). At this point it's trivial to tag addresses from decentralised entities and you will find them across github, nansen, arkham, dune, etherscan, etc 3. it's super hard to make money independently as a data/researcher and i hope that changes, it's within everyone's interest to have analysts make public goods instead of every company in that sector redoing the work
