I don't know enough about crypto. 
I like decentralizing authority, the concept of trust but verify, privacy, and the power of private keys. That's all good. But there is a flip side of the coin (though it's often overblown in rhetoric) that these powers also enable and empower the worst criminal organizations. Is that just the dark side of this technology or is it possible to do a little better?

It does seem wise to incentivize positive contribution. Allocating power and influence to the positive contributors could act as a safeguard against corruption and capture. I wonder if anyone is already working on developing these frameworks. Is there a place where Web3 developers all post their projects and ambitions?

I’m hoping it’s possible to do better. If these systems can be built such that power and influence are earned through positive contribution rather than raw wealth, and if the technology can be democratized sufficiently quickly, they will help usher in a world in which humanity’s highest values are fostered.
