The top and back of the guitar are finished now.

I will start the sides tomorrow.

Hopefully I can make some time to progress this, it would make a nice Xmas gift to myself tbh 😆

I hit my first setback in the guitar build. I was probably a bit too aggressive with the settings here on the planer and broke one of the sides.

More timber is on order, I will start working on the fretboard this week instead.

wow how thin was it actually? never seen a planer crack something like that but tbh most of the thin-board stuff i see on the net switches to drum/belt sander at that (presumed) thickness

Yeah it was 2.5mm when it blew up.
Target was 2.
One piece got there fine.
I really want a drum sander but I have no space for more tools ⚰️

I'll just sand it with an orbital sander next time once it's below 3mm
