Pt Platinum is one of the chemical elements and metals. Its atomic number is 78 with symbol Pt. It is a dense, malleable, ductile, highly unreactive, precious, silverish-white transition metal. The name of this metal comes from the word “platina,” which means “little silver” in Spanish.

Just to be more precise. @yekta "platina" is not little silver, the spanish scientist Antonio de Ulloa who "discovered" it for the europeans, as already existed and was used in ancient Ecuador gave the name platino/a as it was very similar to plata (silver), this is what I was heard and now of course google it :) , 50 $degen to bring me back to history :)
