VanEck Investment Company (VanEck) has submitted to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the first time the request to establish a Solana exchange-traded fund (ETF).  If approved, this ETF will track Solana's price and trade on the Cboe BZX stock market.  Although Bitcoin (BTC)-based exchange-traded funds already exist in the US, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has yet to provide clear guidelines on how to regulate similar ETFs linked to other digital currencies, such as Solana.  has not done.  This request from VanEck could be the first step towards such regulation.
