Tether, the world's largest stablecoin issuer, has announced that it will stop issuing USDT on the Algorand and IAS blockchains.  This move is part of a "strategic transition to prioritize support for community-driven blockchains."  The project aims to strike a "balance between maintainability, usability and community interest."  Tether announced in a blog post on Monday that it will stop issuing new USDT on Algorand and IAS starting Monday, but the company will continue to buy back the stablecoin on the two blockchains over the next 12 months.
