I think both of them can be right. Bukowski’s perspective might hold true for someone in a state of despair who needs hope to find the will to continue. Like a person facing personal failure who uses hope to push forward and rebuild their life. Nietzsche’s view might resonate more with someone trapped in a cycle of false hope. Like an individual clinging to an unattainable dream, refusing to face reality which prolongs their suffering.
