Dear @jessepollak @aneri @frankel et al, We signed up 50-60 new Smart Wallets here. I asked people if they had an “onchain wallet,” but most are still not familiar with the term, so I had to go back to “crypto wallet” One guy pulled out his physical wallet that had a metal chain, like a 90s rocker 🤣🤣

heck yeah - what was your flow for doing this? what was the reward people were getting for going through it?

We had QR codes to https://wallet.coinbase.com/smart-wallet. Then I (also @coopahtroopa.eth) told them what buttons to press (create, create again, accept keys, etc) until they could copy their eth address. Then they tapped NFC disc to get to the POAP and paste address to mint. Reward was wristband for open bar

awesome, very helpful. we need to make it so simple that the "tell what buttons to press" isn't necessary. cc @jeffh @wilsoncusack @fakepixels

It’s possible that many would have gotten through the process themselves, but not with the speed we needed it to be with a line at an IRL event. With my help, it took about a minute. One new thing is the “save to passkeys.” People didn’t seem to mind it, but I hadn’t had that user experience before. Some had to turn it on in settings though. Another thing, which Cooper also mentioned, is finding the eth address (currently small wallet icon top right) was not intuitive for web2 people. Also they had to click “I understand” on a pop up to actually copy to clipboard, which seems like an extra step

@evangreenberg POAP should be able to build a flow where the create + claim is all seamless so they don't need to do the ETH address copy. should be very straightforward. great feedback on the UX - will continue iterating.

Collectors who have the POAP Home app can tap the NFC or scan POAP QR and it mints directly and seamlessly. cc @iz and @worthalter for whether it’s something we would build or whether you would have to build it into CB wallet/smart wallet for POAP links to identify on the device and mint directly into CB wallets

I'm more pointing to the NUX, pre-app. I think best flow would be something like: 1. scan QR / tap NFT to get link 2. link takes you to POAP owned page that says "create a wallet" 3. create smart wallet 4. POAP is auto claimed should be a very simple page to build and be a great new user claim flow. then you can upgrade progressively from there to app. cc @wbnns @briandoyle81 who've also thought about this a bunch with claiming and @fakepixels
