Things I learn from this article 
- the legacy of the cultural revolution means there's a massive disconnect within generations and the concept of "self" in China
The builder generation seeing this as a collective concept, whilst the younger generation is more individualistic with less of this historical collective concept esp with so much being automated 
-Young people may not like the China generations before them worked so hard to build, with many post pandemic trying to "run" 
- like many other places the countryside is in rapid decline, 
- GDP is a dumb metric to use
