I tried to figure out what this object is. Is this a cushion? 🤔

Yes, it's a handmade, hand stitched heart pillow. I would estimate it at being over a hundred years old. This one comes from when I was working on Lost in the Mists of Time. In these small rural places, most of the young people have moved to bigger cities, and the older generations are passing away. Generations of families would stay on the farms where now, no one is left. Things are sold off or abandoned, and precious items are dropped off regularly in boxes at second-hand stores. They are unique thrift stores there as it feels like you're walking through the homes that are now crumbling (that I document). So, I spent a lot of time documenting the precious belongings and home items as well. I wonder about who made this special pillow and the loved one who received it. The message is universal 🤍

Interesting story. The pillow itself is so artsy with its unusual shape and the setting it's in. In the small cities, we also have old, empty houses. We don't usually see objects lying around, though. People love free stuff, so they grab whatever they can. But being there always makes me think about the people who lived there and their regular lives. A story starts building in the mind. History is fascinating, and I enjoy it! Thanks for sharing this :)

69 $DEGEN This was a lot of fun, Mayank. You are the first person to ever ask me about this image, and it's been regularly shared since early 2022. Thank you so much! The houses are empty like you mentioned where you are from. This was in a store for used items. In order to see what was in the homes, I had to visit one of these stores.

Thanks for the tip! :) And I think we got a thing for unusual stuff. 😅 You capture it with photograpy and I try to make it in 3D.
