Software security company McAfee has discovered a new hacker program called SpyAgent. It can steal private keys stored on screenshots and images in the smartphone. The malware sends links to Android smartphone owners. The potential victim follows the link to a phishing site where they can download SpyAgent disguised as banking apps or streaming services. Once installed, they request access to apps, contacts, messages, and local storage, where sensitive data is eventually stolen.

Open-source projects provide transparency and security by allowing anyone to inspect the code for vulnerabilities. Users can verify that the software is not doing anything malicious, unlike closed-source programs like SpyAgent.
