New uniswap drama: the lawyers sent takedown notices to legitimate forks that removed censorship. If you are looking to embed uni functionality into your app, glance over micro-eth-signer (https://github.com/paulmillr/micro-eth-signer). It allows to call Uni contract directly, without censorship, in 10 lines of code.

Not true at all The UI has been forked thousands of times, it’s v easy to do so. Code is gpl for a reason and we like UI forks We do domain takedowns for trademark issues that make the site appear as if it was built by Uniswap labs (like using the branding or name in url) It’s very easy to just not use the brand

My main emphasis is that if it hadn’t become viral on X, there would have been no “fix” from uniswap labs. Which is similar to how big corps are working. Some adjustments to legal process are warranted to prevent this.

When we dug in, there was nothing to fix He had already removed branding and relaunched and the new version did not receive any takedowns Our old takedown vendor did not communicate well on how to fix, but we had already switched vendors He never escalated to our support, just DM’d ex employees
