In a historic decision, the US Federal Reserve cut the interest rate by 0.5%. This is the first rate cut in four years. This decision has been taken after two years of contractionary policy to fight inflation. Although the inflation rate has not yet reached the 2% target, progress in controlling inflation has allowed the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates. Now everyone is waiting for the reaction of the economy to this important decision.
