clip jacking is a type of cryptocurrency scam where malicious software (malware) monitors the clipboard on a device and alters any copied cryptocurrency addresses to the attacker’s own address. since cryptocurrency addresses are long and complex, most people copy and paste them during transactions rather than typing them out manually. clip jacking takes advantage of this behavior, so that when a user pastes the address into a transaction field, it’s actually the attacker’s address that gets pasted.
