I am *mildly* oyster obsessed (I have oyster tattoos on the oysters of my arms - I know.)
But consider:
- they are protein rich, high in zinc (supporting immune function, wound healing)
- high in iron, calcium, B12, omega-3 fatty acids, and selenium
- low cal
Also:
They are the only Carbon Neutral Species: Oysters are unique because they not only have a minimal environmental footprint but actively benefit ecosystems. Their shells sequester carbon dioxide as they grow, contributing to carbon capture.
Sustainability: Oyster farming is one of the most sustainable aquaculture practices. It requires no feed, fertilizers, or freshwater inputs, as oysters naturally filter and feed from their environment.
Farming oysters can also restore damaged habitats and improve water quality⦠8 replies
