widely used and supported open standard like SVG could survive longer than proprietary ones, scalable and low demanding - perfect for an old iPad screen with cracked glass ðŸ«

I agree, but then RSS is also an open XML based standard and support for that got largely dropped when Google discontinued Google Reader
