what do you think about L2s going down with the ship if ETH doesn't win? or is it that easy for L2s to seperate themselves/become their own chain that they don't care about ETH to begin with?

I think it depends on how deeply an L2 is tied to Ethereum. Some L2s are heavily reliant on Ethereum's security and ecosystem, so if ETH fails, they might struggle too.
