removing the cost for real users to join and contribute to the network is an existential problem farcaster needs to solve

most people don't pay for social media - doesn't matter if it's $1 or $10 - it's not something they're used to

this is also an existential problem for apps building on farcaster

Community projects, lacking funding and protocol revenue, are much more eager for new users than the Warpcast team.

Registration fees are necessary for decentralized protocols, converting spammy users into revenue. On the other hand, we could allocate some free registrations to community clients, who can use other centralized methods to attract high-quality users.

What happens when a community client onboards spammy users from another client's pov?

Clients need to apply for a small quota first and report new users they onboarded.

The community or Warpcast team have algorithms to determine if the users are spam. 

It is unlikely that current clients would sacrifice their reputation by bringing in spammy users.

If happened, cancel all quota for future.

The warpcast team already has the algorithm to label users, just go with it. 

You have the right to cancel all quota.

And so what happens when we say the users are spammy and the dev disagrees and throws a fit. :)
