Minor suggestion/nitpick on @recaster-fc : Can we have back button click or side-swipe gesture to close open images? But imo most apps use the back button or side swipe gesture to close & users are likely more accustomed to it. 
(Same already works for videos though)

I think it has close button and swipe down guesture to close image.

To help me, which sample app I can learn from? X or Threads?

btw just noticed clicking outside also closes image which is also user friendly, just that i m not sure if users will be familiar with the gesture.
