Huranga Holi is a more than 500 years tradition celebrated after the last day of the Holi festival in the Dauji temple in Baldeo. Thousands of men and women from Mathura's Baldeo town and surrounding villages gather in the courtyard and balconies of the Dauji temple. According to tradition, the men pour buckets of saffron-scented and coloured water over the women, and colourful powdered paints are scattered throughout the temple courtyard. Now everywhere in the temple is wet and colourfully powdered, you can even no longer see a thing except the colourful clothes of women and powders. Everyone who is in the temple at that time is either a relative or a neighbour, and the women cover their faces with their hands or with their scarves and saris to avoid being recognized by the men because after being soaked and painted, their counterattack will begin, and they will start tearing the men's clothes.
